But I think God is leading me toward "balance" ... I don't sense a strict regimen of do's and dont's and Have to's! I'm certain that "Poppa" is fussing at me about this topic though
Yea, I think He is asking us to make a "forever" change of how we eat, work out, and address assorted health issues, where we truly give Him lordship in that area. I think He is moving us there step by step, and strengthening us and giving us what we need to be successful.
In the past when I did "diets", they would be short term drastic changes in behavior...designed to reach a goal so I could stop needing to make those drastic changes. This time it is different...it is about making "forever" changes at His direction, usually just one or 2 at a time and then a few weeks later (once the earlier change becomes a habit), adding in another one. Instead of being overwhelming, it is "livable" and "doable". And I don't feel like I am making these changes to reach a weight goal so much as because Daddy God is asking me to and I want to please Him.
The benefit of these changes is that I am also getting weight loss, having more energy and feeling healthier. I haven't arrived yet, but I get the feeling that the changes I am making will help me stay thinner and healthier once I do reach my target weight. And I am starting to have confidence that God really does intend to take me to that target weight (and that a lot of good health will also be attached to it, because His strategy for me is all about eating nutritious and healthy.).
But yes, I agree that His strategy (at least the one He has for me) is more about balance and making a series of "forever" changes over time rather than trying to change everything all at once. Blessings to you - teresa
