it might be time to start thinking/praying about change #2... - teresa Have thought and prayed, and here is change #2: Smaller portions, and no seconds. You keep pushing me, Teresa; I appreciate it. (Proverbs 27:6)

Hello Group,
I just thought I'd share what I feel I've felt led to eat the past year and it's really helped me to feel healthy, energetic, full and I've lost consistant weight. I bought a smaller plate, (I suppose it's meant to be a salad plate.) Then I put a serving of meat the size of a deck of cards on it and any two kinds of vegetables. I usually make one of the veggie choices raw and very colorful. I've been experimenting with spices, herbs, citrus and vinegars for flavor. And I drink water, green tea, or chilled almond milk. Also, I make sure that I'm eating enzymes for my stomach (yogurt) and one to two servings of whole grains or just some sort of fiber each day. I never eat carbohydrates for dinner but I make sure I eat a protein for my last meal. And the one big thing that I need God's help in breaking that I knowingly do is eating after 9pm because I know my digestion is very slow and it will show up on the scale the following morning... Well, that's my direction so far! Jewel

I'm sorry, I think I got off topic. A great suggestion, but maybe it might have been better as it's own thread instead of a reply to this one. Do you know how to start a new thread? You can't do it when you are already reading a post (all you can do at that point is reply to it). But if you go up one level to where there are the list of threads, then there is a bar at the top of the list that has three icons on the right hand side. One of them is "new thread" or something like that. If you click on that, it will let you start a brand new topic. Anyhow, the very same idea you came up with has also occurred to some of the diet experts...I guess great minds thing alike, and their writings are proof that you are hearing God well and have a great idea there. Blessings to you. - teresa Blessings to you. - teresa

Do I ever get mad? LOL only if I am honest and admit it. Many things at work make me angry. Parents who are so critical and who want all the rules bent for their child. There is a whole difference in grace and rules being bent. Grace Says you/I did wrong but we love you anyway and bending says the rules dont apply. Personally I am not sure but I do NOT think God one bit lowers the standard (rules) for us but I DO think God gives us a whole bunch of grace when we fail. Work frustrates me especially parents who refuse to see and want to blame me when their child has never been taught to obey and think of others. And then when I get mad, I try to stuff it, because we are not allowed to get mad at the kids and then when I stuff it I want to FEED the emotion. AAAGGGG. Got to learn to take it to God much faster but at work I so forget to do that. There are like ten million things going on there all at once. BTW I teach first grade and there are 32 kids and two teachers in the room. Its a very busy place most of the time. Then I also get real mad at the way adults hurt kids. I do some prayer ministry and so many, well most actually, but many people were so wounded as children by the adults God gave them to love and nurture and shelter them. Then I also try to stuff that. LOL Wonder why GOd has got me venting here? One more thing that bugs me is parents who have plenty of time to go get fake nails, who own cell phones, whose kids have very expensive shoes, who smoke so much that even the bookbag reeks of smoke, but who want someone else to give their child snack and pay for field trips. Parents who wont sign papers for the kid etc. Sounds like I need to extend a lot of grace to some adults doesnt it? Help me Lord I have to go to work now. Shalom

Wow Dodi... It sounds to me like a daisy planted in the crack of a New York sidewalk! I wouldn't blame you for getting angry. I have this weakness toward justice as well. I'm thankful many times there IS a God that is far more capable of the kind of grace and mercy it takes in the world than I am humanly capable of sometimes! But what I'm learning Dodi, is that I'm no good to anyone if I turn righteous emotions in on myself and allow them to destroy me. What Father is teaching me is to USE the righteous anger to fuel my intercession for them and once I've done that, to seek His direction to Love them creatively and in a way that He would. He always seems to inspire me. But sometimes..... it doesn't look the way you might expect! Blessings On You, Jewel

I can agree with most of you. Satan works over time to get us mad. Our mind is the battle field that he uses. Everyday I have to plead the Blood of Jesus over my mind ,will and EMOITONS! This really does work for me. Blessings on you my beloved friends "in The Lord"texas star99
