Here's the latest on past posts regarding my addiction to ice cream: I have continued to break the habit of snacking on the stuff, thanks be to the Lord. On the rare occasion (really, it's quite rare) that I might have some, it's very small portions. Usually when we eat out. I deliberately do not buy any to keep in our freezer. And if my waist line measurement is stationary at present, at least it's not increasing.
Quick question about cookies: If they're oatmeal cookies, they're good for you, right? Right? I mean, surely the oats in the oatmeal portion outweigh any sugar that may have found its way into the cookies? (This is obviously a back-handed admission that while I have also avoided Oreos and chocolate chip cookies, I may like oatmeal cookies just a bit more than I should.) Okay, one more area to give over to His control.
Sigh. I SO look forward to heaven, where nothing we eat will be bad for us.

Amen, brother! In heaven, I am going to be a size 10 with a mane of thick, blonde hair (hey, it's my heavenly body after all, LOL!) And we will eat only for pleasure, and there will be no such thing as a calorie. Come soon, Lord Jesus!
Seriously, though, Schwans has some really fantastic fat-free, no sugar-added ice cream. I buy it for my hubby who is diabetic but who loves ice cream like you do. They also have 50 calorie fudge bars and 60 calorie creamsicles. I don't care about ice cream so much, but I'd kill for an oatmeal cookie!
Try making those banana oatmeal cookies I posted the recipe for in the recipe section. They are really good, full of fiber and other good stuff, and I promise, you won't even miss the other kind. Much.

Schwann's comes every 2 weeks; we're regular customers. I didn't know about the fat-free, no sugar ice cream, I'll have to ask when they next come around. Thanks!

On a related subject, I no longer like soft drinks. In the recent past I have found my hypertension increases when I consume sugar flavored soft drinks, and I absolutely do not like aspartame. (The after-taste stays with me for hours, and I find it unpleasant.) The hard part now, on those occasions when I find a fast-food place with room to park my rig for a fast lunch break and buy a combo-meal, is finding something to drink. Everything from the dispenser is sugared or sugar-free. I usually look for regular iced tea.

I have the same problem. Usually I have water. Wendy's has brewed iced tea if you ever end up there.
