Hi All, My food ministry, Wheels of Hope, is doing a mobile food distribution this Saturday and I would appreciate your prayers. Pray that we would have favor in the neighborhoods we are going into, that God would open hearts to hear about His love, that we would find a way to get around the language differences, and that the weather will cooperate. Last January, we did this in the rain, and it was miserable, so I am hoping for decent weather! We should be serving about 65 families. God has been so faithful to this ministry, we continue to have lots of donations of food and cash and lots of volunteers. In fact, if it gets much bigger, I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up with it! Thanks for praying, friends! I appreciate all of you!

You mentioned getting around the language barriers. The language of love that you and your co-workers speak will take care of that. I'm praying for you, my friend. Look forward to this event: God is blessing it, and will bless it on Saturday. Let us know, afterwords, how it went!

Well, we just got home a little bit ago from our food distribution. God was very gracious to give us a little sunshine, but it was very cold still.
This was our biggest one so far, 72 families! We got to connect with a bunch of new folks in 2 neighborhoods that we hadn't been to before. I know that one bag of groceries won't solve any long term problems, but if just one person says to themselves "Wow, maybe God does think about me," then it's all worth it! One lady got so excited she ran around to all her neighbors trailers and yelled, "Hey, open your doors! These guys are giving out free food!" One disabled guy told us that we were an answer to his prayer this morning. Oh, and we rescued a ball from off of a roof for a bunch of little hispanic kids. Any way we can serve...
All the volunteers left exhausted and happy (including me.) One 12 yr old girl who had come with her mom was overwhelmed by the poverty she saw, she really had no idea that people actually lived like that. Amazing how sheltered most of us are, and I don't think we are doing our children any favors by cushioning them from the hard facts of life.
All this week as I was praying for this day and for God's guidance in it, I kept seeing this theme running through my thoughts: There are those in our country who would like to make Christianity all about a political agenda. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Christianity is about a social agenda. When I looked up the word "social" in the dictionary, it means "community" "living together" and "sharing." It's all about relationship. Today we boiled it all down to it's simplest form: Love God. Love each other. Serve one another. That is the way God draws others to Himself, by using us to serve them. Today we truly were able to be the hands and feet of Christ and it was such a blessing to all involved. It doesn't get much better than that!
Thank you for your encouragement!

Thank you for sharing what happened. I was blessed just by reading it.
