Well sure hope I'm doing this correctly.
I've been struggling with on/off weight problems; give it to the Lord and take it back struggles. Seems I always get off to a great start and a week or two later I crash. I can't seem to 'finish' what I have started. Please pray that as I surrender to Him that I finish the race regarding my food and exercise habits. WendyJoy

Yeah, you're doing this correctly, WendyJoy. I'm praying for you, and part of my prayer is that our Lord will show you exactly why you crash and not finish what you have started. Dennis

School with kids starts tomorrow, Aug 24 for me. I am a teacher and I am also older now... Teachers have this thing we do, from stress we tend to begin room calling to ask, "who has chocolate" "I NEED some chocolate." For the past two days, Yeshua has been reminding him that it is NOT chocolate or any other food I NEED. He spoke today about leaning on him, if standing or sitting or even laying down and showed me a picture of how very close he is... so my prayer is to be FAST to run to Him and lean on Him and not on food or any other form of "self". I tend to forget when there is a lot going on...I KNOW this very well, it has been the desire of my heart for years to walk in tune to and aware of Him, but I fail every single day.. I need so badly to be aware of Him cuz sometimes life is just so hard.

Dodi, I know exactly what you are dealing with. I, too, am in education. I was a classroom teacher for 13 years, and I am now in my third year as a school counselor. School started this past week, and it was stressful. I find myself always coming up with reasons why I can't seem to stick with the "dieting" thing, and it's like you said, we all yell for chocolate at least once a day. I finally realized this past year that I am only making excuses for my behavior (my counseling classes for my Master's degree helped me acknowledge that). In addition to the stresses of the job, I also believe that I have a weight issue that revolves around "men." Every man that I have ever dated has cheated on me. In some kind of pitiful thinking, I think I subconsciously use my weight as a way to give myself a reason as to WHY this happens. For example, if there is not an outward reason for them to treat me this way, then there must be something wrong with me as a person (why they don't like me and turn to other women). I really thought I had made progress in this area; however, my husband divorced me last year, and he said that one reason was because I wasn't skinny enough. NOW...I realize that those same old issues are there. I have been struggling with these feelings and crying out to God for answers. That's when I received the email about giving God Lordship over my weight, food, and exercise issues. I will definitely be praying for you and your journey. I know that God is truly the only answer to the weight issues we have. I hope you have a great week at school this next week.

This prayer request is off topic, but it's one I request often especially when surrounded by prayer warriors! Please pray for my husband's salvation. Also, we've been separated for 4 years, so please pray for our marriage. I'm not asking God to restore our marriage, but rather to renew it. I figure the first one was never good, so why restore something that was such a mess. But I'm trusting for a renewal! Hallelujah. I don't know when and I don't know how, but I know God and I know that I can't, but HE CAN!

This weekend I wanted to eat big time. Like chocolate. However I did not yet, so far. I am making or we are making a big decision which makes me real happy but also makes me want to munch and munch and munch and so forth. there were chocolate chips, the kinds you bake with I saw. Maybe I need to toss those things. Or I wanted FF from MacDonalds also. UGH. Too bad God doesnt just take away all cravings for us. Shalom

Father, You care so much for us and You care for our needs. I ask that you come cover these requests no matter how late I am in praying, because You are above time and meet these wonderful people where they are right now and give them what they REALLY crave. I know that You have knit each of us in the womb and created each of us totally uniquely. So although we do have similar issues of the heart, mind, body, emotions... You have a unique design in how we are supposed to run most efficiently so that we might worship You more fully. Help us to worship you in our jobs, our marriages, our family, our relationships, chance encounters, errands.... in everything my Lord. Give us fulfillment in You rather than through the the empty calories the world offers... In my Lord Jesus I pray. Amen One word about chocolate... I have found a plethora of delicious varieties of dark chocolates that are low glycemic, and heart healthy. Take one square (2x2) and eat it with love, slowly and appreciatively. I used to have one once a day, now I only crave it maybe twice a month and it's perfectly ok to have it Be Blessed, Jewel
