I started "dieting" a couple of months ago and was looking to God to help me with my diet. I used the term "putting my eating under His lordship" and a synonym for "hoping God will help keep me on track on my diet." Well, one day I asked the Lord what He thought about my putting my eating under His Lordship. I assumed He would be really happy about it, because I was making an effort to take better care of my body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. But what He said to me was quite different. In a nutshell, He said that I shouldn't say I was putting my eating under His Lordship unless I really gave Him lordship in that area...that He wanted to be my Lord and not just a diet aid. You can read what He said on the GodSpeak web page at: www.godspeak.net/his-lordship/lordship_2.htmlMaybe the Lord has an opinion about your eating as well? Have you asked Him about it? He may tell you something different than what He told me. Maybe He will emphasize how much He is willing to help you or maybe He will give you some practical direction. Please feel free to post on this thread comments about what God said to me, or else to share what He says to you.

Eating to be healthy is somthing I have struggled with all year this year. At the very beginging of the year the Lord spoke to me and told me that if I would follow His lead and take care of myself as He shows me that He would bring healing.
He lead me to a website that was a wonderful encouragment to me and showed me a lot about health and nutrition the way God had designed it be from the begining. Also I learned a lot about how God esigned our bodies to heal themselves when given the right opportunities to do so. Our bodies by design are truelly amazing. That in itself has shown me a lot about how amazing our God is.
There are several factors that go into be healthy. Things like eating right, exercise, sunlight, sleep, and personal time spent with our Lord.
Its been a big struggle for me and I have been praying about it also so this will be an interesting journey we take together.

If I had been listening, the Lord would probably have said something to me much as He said to you, Teresa. I am listening now. I am taking as mine the word He had for you. The circumstances seem to fit. I didn't receive a "food curse" chain letter, however, I wanted to blame a seriously underactive thyroid which had been left untreated for years. Just an excuse! Thank you for your transparency and willingness to work out your salvation alongside the rest of us. Leslie

I'm listening as well. I have no one to blame but my self. But I know that God is going to a quick work in me.

hi sisters, In Dec. 8 I herniated a disc throwing a full gas canister out of my car in freezing weather. The pain was excruciating, never let up day or night. Did I mention I live alone in a village in Normandy, France? Travelling to the States by plane for Christmas was a feat, and I was in worse shape upon my return three weeks later. A believer friend of mine told me about a man who had been completely cured of a herniated disc through juicing. The docs said you'll 'never get cured' and talked about an operation. I knew the Lord had been speaking to me about fasting for a while. I decided to jump on the wagon feeling His grace on the fast. I was directed to a site called juicefeasting. While it contains some New Age stuff, the juicing support and advice is awesome. I dove in. Before that, girls, I LOVED to snack. I still do. France is a hard country to diet in. However, the Lord gave me grace. I hope this isn't infuriating to you; some have to do it the slow arduous way. In the past, that was me -- struggle, struggle. Was it a snap? No, there were days I wanted to scream, faint, or dial 1-800-Godiva, but I didn't. In addition to my juice, I would just squeeze two lemons, add cayenne pepper and drink more of that. (called the Master Cleanser) Now I love this drink! With God's help and love, I made it through the juice fast (both homemade veg and fruit juices (lots of recipes out there), 1.5 litres a day or more) for 40 days and then transitioned to raw. My energy came up very very slowly and I added some simple exercises. I bike twice a day for 15 minutes. I've lost 20+ pounds I guess, I never weigh myself, I was never too overweight. My hernia is long gone, the doctor says it's impossible. BUT God, our miracle worker. I eat a bit of everything now, and my appetite is under (His) control. I praise Him daily for the work He's done in me and my body, and I do my own part daily. I pray for the same grace and impartation on your own health program.
