I have heard and read that broccoli can help control acid reflux. Some people have reported being able to stop taking over-the-counter medicines to control it, after two weeks of eating broccoli. I suffer from a mild problem, I take one Prilosec about once a week. I'm going to try consuming the recommended 1/2 cup of broccoli a day for the next few weeks and let you know how it works for me.

Followup: I have not been able to follow my plan for the past few weeks. Budget constraints, early mornings and late nights at work, crazy supper hours all seem to have conspired to prevent me from consuming broccoli as planned. I shall re-group and try again.

Costco sells large bags of"precut" brocolli fairly cheaply. The are mostly crown and very little stem. Also, some of the smaller food store chains (like Farmer Joes) have good prices on veggies, inlcuding brocolli. But major grocery store chains in my area (Safeway and Luckys) are really expensive for fruits and veggies. I have pretty much stopped shoppig there and get my veggies from the cheaper stores. - teresa

Broccoli has a number of benefits for our health and fitness. It is more important for losing the excess body weight. It burns the fat, and controls the cholesterol level more effectively, so it also improve the heart health. In raw forum it is more effective for the health and fitness.

Yeah, I know about broccoli. It's "okay" on my list of favorite foods, fortunately much higher on my wife's list of foods she prepares for the two of us. One of the unfortunate by-products of raw broccoli for me is stomach gas (read that, "burbs") , so I moderate my intake. Cooked broccoli doesn't have that effect.

Well Broccoli has been really useful, because of the fact that it contains protein which is essential for muscles developing as well as for strength of the body. So it is right to eat vegetables like broccoli for improving health.
