Well, I finally did it: I stepped on the bathrooms scales just prior to taking a shower this evening. I've lost five pounds! Not that I could tell otherwise, mind you. Before I checked, I thought I'd not lost any weight, especially since Thanksgiving. It really does help to not consume ice cream and eggnog (I have asked my wife to not buy eggnog this Christmas season, and my son agrees.)
Thank you, Lord, and praise be to your Holy Name!

Dennis that is so great. I have been faithful to pray for you in this battle. I remember how hard it was for me. But now it will be easier. I too had to conquer ice cream. God will prevail on your behalf. Resist the devil and he will flee from you with every temptation.Keep me abd all posted on your sucess.

Joan and I leave Sunday morning to drive our youngest son, Jon, back to Phoenix. He flies into Albuquerque tomorrow at 1:30 pm. Phoenix is an 8 hour drive by way of Flagstaff, weather permitting. If road conditions are prohibitive, we have the option of driving south on I-25 to I-10 and then west, avoiding the high altitude and associated weather of north Arizona; unfortunately, this adds 2 hours of driving, making for a 10 hour drive. We'll be back home by Wednesday. Thank you for your well wishes!
